YOUR CONTENT, YOUR CHOICES

Privacy starts with a clear choice.

Memento keeps recordings and the results you create in its local library. Some optional features use a network connection; this page explains those paths.

What stays on your device

Recording, playback, imports, edits, transcripts and results from a selected on-device AI workflow are handled locally. Memento does not require an account or show ads. This website serves static pages and does not set analytics cookies.

Local AI and model downloads

Supported local models run on your device after you choose and install them. The model host receives a normal download request, which can include your IP address, but the recording is not attached to that download. Availability depends on the device, language, storage and installed model. A missing local model does not silently switch to a remote AI provider.

Optional transfers

Optional diagnostics

Memento offers an off-by-default setting to share usage and crash diagnostics with Firebase. If enabled, Firebase may receive app interaction events, job outcomes, device and crash information, and a pseudonymous installation identifier. Memento does not deliberately add recording audio, transcript text, titles or prompts to custom events. You can turn this off in the app's Privacy settings; previously received data may require a separate request.

Deletion and questions

Items moved to Memento's Trash can be restored until permanently removed. Previously exported copies, content already transferred to a paired Mac or provider, and iCloud results require separate management at those destinations. For privacy questions or data requests, contact westley@outlook.it.
